Trousers for woodland hunting that are resistant to thick vegetation

All woodland hunting enthusiasts need clothing that can withstand overgrown areas, where branches become tangled and it can be difficult to clear a path through. These trousers are particularly resistant to thorns, brambles and thick vegetation. Both our choice of fabric and the assembly of the garment in particular (a double layer of fabric on the front of the legs) make the trousers tear-resistant and able to withstand vegetation. The lining goes high up the thighs.

These waterproof hunting trousers make it possible to continue hunting even in heavy rain.

With a waterproof rating of 5000mm, the Inverness 540 trouser provides excellent protection from the rain. We measure a fabric’s resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the tissue is. A component with a waterproof rating of 5000 mm therefore resists the pressure from 5000 mm of water: this corresponds to a heavy 3-hour long storm (30 cm of water).

Why is there an inner mesh fabric?

In addition to the breathability of the fabric used, Solognac develops technical solutions that improve the overall ventilation of our garments. You will note that the inner mesh used in these trousers has been designed for improved perspiration wicking and breathability. This provides additional comfort, which can be an advantage when walking for many miles during a hunting trip.

These trousers use a breathable fabric, and here’s why

The breathability of a fabric is measured in RET (Resistance to evaporative heat transfer). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapour generated by an active body can escape through the fabric and the higher the fabric’s breathability. For this model, the component’s complex RET is equal to 12 m/².Pa/W. In other terms, this makes our Inverness 540 hunting trousers a highly breathable garment, very useful when walking many miles behind your dogs as they track down scents.

A functional and practical product, with 3 pockets

In terms of design, we have prioritised the essential features: there are of course 2 waterproof hand pockets (with a 3 cm wide flap to protect the zip fastener from the rain), as well as a pocket on the right leg with a waterproof zip. The trousers have 5 belt loops, and are higher at the back to protect the lumbar region when hunting.

Bonus features of these Inverness 540 trousers

For even more leg protection when scrambling through brambles to help your dog pin down a woodcock, you should note that the double thickness lining on these trousers goes even higher than on, for instance, our Supertrack 100 model (almost as far as the crotch and on the sides). In addition, the entire length of the inner belt has been designed with a soft fabric for greater comfort.
